Discover The Berkshires - A Four Season Destination

Whether you enjoy world-class museums, numerous cultural events, spectacular Fall foliage or a winter wonderland of activities, you’ll find
that the Berkshires has it all.

Spring is a great time to go biking, hiking and to see some amazing waterfalls. The Ashuwillticook Rail Trail winds its way through
wooded and open areas,
along the wetlands of Cheshire Reservoir
making an enjoyable day for the whole family.
There are hundreds of miles of hiking trails throughout the Berkshires. From the Appalachian Trail on Mount Greylock to Laura’s Tower and Ice Glen, to the lookout on Monument Mountain,
there are walks and hikes for everyone.

The Berkshires are most popular in the Summer with concerts at Tanglewood, theatre at many playhouses, art festivals, beautiful mansions and gardens, adventure parks, dance  and much more.
If museums are your thing, the Berkshires won’t disappoint. Here you’ll find the Hancock Shaker Village, the Norman Rockwell Museum, The Clark Art Institute and Mass MoCA to name a few. Children will love the Berkshire Museum with lots of “hands-on” activities and adults will love it too!

Shakespeare & Company, Berkshire Theatre Group, Williamstown Theatre Festival and Barrington Stage perform award-winning musicals, original productions, dramas, classics and world premieres. You’ll find these high-quality performances are often sold out so get your tickets soon!

Tanglewood, the summer home of the Boston Symphony, entertains thousands of visitors every year. Performers such as Yo-Yo Ma, James Taylor and the Boston Pops are among the favorites. If big crowds aren’t to your liking, then perhaps you’ll enjoy dinner and music at numerous pubs and restaurants with local performers.

Jacob's Pillow Dance in Becket draws thousands of visitors each year to see world-renowned dance performances, talks and special events.
Did you know that the "pillow" is on
the National Register of Historic places?
Stop by and see this hidden gem!

Fall is a special time in the Berkshires. Enjoy apple picking and watch how cider is made at the various orchards. Visit a pumpkin patch and take a hayride or find your way out of a corn maze. Country fairs with their agricultural exhibits, animals and midway rides are always fun to attend. How about a scenic drive to see the
magnificent colors of the season!
Don’t forget your camera!

Powder hounds (skiers) love winter in the Berkshires. Whether they are carving a run through the freshly fallen snow at Jiminy Peak or enjoying snow tubing at Bousquet or Catamount or even nordic skiing (cross-country) at Notchview or Canterbury Farm, there’s something for everyone. Not into skiing? There’s plenty of ice for skating or ice fishing and snow for snowmen and snowball fights.

Whatever your season, there’s always something to do!
